The House of Aura

Where fragrance becomes Art

Aura Budapest was born in 2024, in the heart of Budapest, at 2 Ponty Street, embraced by the historic castle walls—brought to life through the shared vision of local creators.

The aim was to create a perfume brand that goes beyond scent—one that unites different forms of artistic expression into a single, cohesive work, where each element contributes to bringing the fragrance’s character to life. A creation that is not only perceived, but also interpreted.

Aura Budapest fragrances come to life across three artistic dimensions: within the bottle—through the art of perfumery; on the bottle—through the art of literature; and finally, on the box—revealed through a contemporary painting.

Each perfume is crafted by hand with meticulous attention to detail—much like the brushstrokes of a painting or the delicate features of a sculpture. Aura Budapest fragrances are not mass-produced products, but boutique creations designed to inspire, provoke, and elevate.

The Artist

At the heart of the creations, behind the scents, stands Gergely Kőmezei. His journey became intertwined with the world of perfumery at a young age. At sixteen, he began experimenting with his own compositions—driven purely by curiosity and an instinctive attraction.

Over the years, this initial fascination evolved into a conscious creative vision. At twenty-four, the idea of Aura Budapest was born within him, along with his first fragrance, Storm Chaser. It was no longer just a composition, but a manifesto—the scent of freedom, courage, and the pull of the unknown. This creation already carried everything he believes about the art of perfumery.

In his work, he operates on the boundary between instinct and deliberate structure, where every note serves the integrity of the whole composition. His approach is quiet and deeply personal—not about standing out, but about authenticity and a profound respect for detail.

For him, fragrance is an invisible language—a subtle yet elemental form of communication capable of unlocking deeper emotional layers.

Scent is not an accessory, but a presence—an identity. His fragrances are characters, brought to life through the person who wears them.

The Visual Composer

The visual world of the boxes was created by Zalán Budai, a Hungarian contemporary digital artist who has been shaping his own artistic perspective since 2020.

At the core of Zalán’s work lies the pursuit of the invisible. In his own words, he is always drawn to what exists beneath the surface—the light that gives form, the movement that does not originate from the body, and the energy that is born in a single moment. When he creates, this is the sensation he seeks: that threshold where the visual can no longer be described, only experienced.

His works are not illustrations, but independent interpretations. Each composition is a visual reflection of the fragrance’s character—not describing it, but elevating it into a new, visible dimension. These creations do not accompany the scent; they bring its atmosphere, depth, and emotional layers to life through visual form.

Budapest Boutique

Our Budapest flagship boutique opened its doors to guests at the end of March 2025, marking a new chapter in the world of Aura Budapest.

The interior concept was designed by Benjámin Szabó, whose work was inspired by the harmony of nature, raw tones, and organic forms. The minimalist yet refined showroom reflects a nature-centered philosophy in every detail, creating a unique atmosphere for visitors.

The boutique’s central visual element is a monumental rock installation created exclusively for Aura Budapest, standing as a symbol of the brand’s identity. At its peak rises a replica of the Liberty Statue of Budapest, paying tribute to the capital while reinforcing the brand’s Budapest roots and spirit.
